Portugal national team coach Roberto Martinez has addressed speculation surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and how long the superstar could continue his career.
In recent weeks, reports have suggested that Ronaldo may retire after the 2026 World Cup, amid rumors of dissatisfaction at Al-Nassr.
However, Martinez believes the five-time Ballon d’Or winner still has plenty to offer.
“We have all the statistics. If we were analyzing a player in physical decline, that would not be the case here. His physical data shows a player who can continue and continue without limits.”
The Decision Will Be Ronaldo’s
Martinez emphasized that the decision will ultimately come down to timing and Ronaldo’s own self-assessment.
“I think it’s more about the moment when he feels it’s the right time. He is a player who is very critical of himself.”
“When he no longer feels he can help the team, he will be the one to decide when to stop.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has returned to full training with Al-Nassr teammates and is expected to be available for the club’s upcoming match.
