Matheus Cunha Reacts to Viral Haircut Challenge Involving Manchester United Fan

Manchester United star Matheus Cunha has shared his thoughts on the viral haircut challenge set by supporter Frank Ilett, also known as The United Strand.

Ilett pledged not to cut his hair until the Red Devils win five matches in a row — and he is still waiting to book a barber appointment.

United had secured four consecutive victories before their trip to West Ham United, but a 1-1 draw halted the streak.

Cunha made it clear he is not concerned about the fan’s challenge.

“People are more worried about getting five wins because of the haircut than about the 15 points. I care about the 15 points — I don’t care about his haircut at all,” he said.

Focus on Results, Not Viral Moments

The Brazilian added that while the topic occasionally comes up in the dressing room, it is not a source of motivation.

“We talk about it sometimes, but it’s not very motivating for us. We don’t see it as something ‘cool’. Nobody wants those five wins more than we do — or more wins, whatever they may be.”

He also suggested that the attention around the haircut challenge slightly distracts from what could otherwise be appreciated as a positive season.

Cunha Key to United’s Recent Form

Cunha has played a crucial role in United’s recent upturn in form, scoring in wins over Arsenal and Fulham, and providing an assist in the victory against Manchester City.

The draw with West Ham resets Ilett’s viral challenge once again.

United return to action on 23 February against Everton at Goodison Park, before facing Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Bournemouth in the Premier League.
