Barcelona Ready To Pay 100 Million For This Specific Striker

Barcelona aims to strengthen their attacking department in the summer transfer window for next season, as Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is expected to leave the club.

According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants have allocated a maximum budget of 100 million euros for the transfer of a new striker during the summer and do not plan to exceed this amount.

The club’s main target is Argentine striker JuliAn Alvarez, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid. The 25-year-old has recently stated that he is not sure whether he will continue to stay at the Wanda Metropolitano beyond this summer, which has increased the optimism of Barcelona’s leaders about a possible transfer.

In the Catalan camp, Alvarez is seen as the ideal successor to Lewandowski, whose contract is expected to expire this summer.

However, Barcelona want to tread carefully in this operation. The club hopes to first achieve a 1:1 Financial Fair Play (FFP) rule before accelerating efforts to secure the services of a high-level player like Álvarez.

Meanwhile, the 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina, who has a contract with Atletico until 2030, must push for a departure from the Madrid club himself if he wants to move to Barcelona.

The Argentine striker was also a protagonist in the Champions League recently, where he scored a brace in Atletico Madrid’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the round of 16.
