Xabi Alonso’s Agent Announces His Next Club

Inaki Ibanez, the agent of former Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso, has dismissed reports of a preliminary agreement for the coach to replace Arne Slott at Liverpool this summer.

Speculation has been rife in Spain this week, with claims that Alonso has already secured a three-year contract to take charge at Anfield. Ibanez has been quick to quash the rumours.

“All the talk about a deal with Liverpool is just media speculation,” Ibanez initially told WinWin .

“Alonso is reviewing all the offers he has received to decide his next destination for the new season,” the agent concluded.

The former Bayer Leverkusen coach left Real Madrid in January after a disappointing first half of the season and has been linked with several senior management positions since his departure.

Liverpool’s hierarchy have stressed that Slot’s position will be reviewed at the end of the season as part of routine annual assessments, with no decision yet being made.
