Uruguayan central defender Ronald Araujo could leave Barcelona during the summer transfer window, according to reports from El Nacional.
The Catalan giants are planning a major defensive overhaul this summer, with the 27-year-old Uruguayan identified as a prime candidate for sale.
Although his long-term contract runs until 2031, Barcelona are willing to let him leave for a fee of €30 million.
Several of Europe’s top powers are already on high alert, with Newcastle, PSG, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Liverpool reportedly showing interest in the defender.
Araujo, currently valued at €25 million, has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals.
His potential departure comes after a turbulent period; in December 2025, the defender took a temporary break from football for “spiritual recovery” after a series of inconsistent performances.
As Barcelona look to balance the budget and refresh the squad, selling the Uruguayan international appears to be a key part of their strategy for the 2026/27 season.
