Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham could be out for longer than expected as his recovery from injury is not progressing at the expected pace, reports journalist Alberto Pereiro.
The English talent has been out of action since the thigh injury he suffered last month against Rayo Vallecano.
Although he has recently been seen returning to individual training, Pereiro stresses that Bellingham is not expected to return to action before mid-April.
The 22-year-old’s prolonged absence means he will not only miss two matches against Manchester City in the Champions League round of 16, but also be in doubt for the quarter-finals if they qualify.
Since his absence, Arda Guler has played in the number 10 position while “Los Blancos” are also without their other star, Kylian Mbappe – who is expected to be out for several weeks.
Otherwise, Real Madrid faces a difficult home match against Getafe on Monday night, where they definitely need a win to continue chasing Barcelona in the title race.
