Al-Nassr’s quarter-final match against Al-Wasl has been postponed due to escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The Saudi team, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, was scheduled to face the club from the United Arab Emirates in Dubai, but a new date for the match has not yet been confirmed.
The postponement comes after recent developments in the region, which have significantly increased uncertainty. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced in an official statement that, due to the evolving situation, the round of 16 matches in the Western region as well as the quarter-final matches of the respective competitions have been postponed until further notice.
The AFC stressed that matches involving clubs from the Eastern region will take place as planned, underlining that the safety of players, staff, officials and fans remains the absolute priority.
Meanwhile, Al-Nassr coach Jorge Jesus also gave an update on the condition of Ronaldo, who was seen with ice on the back of his knee.
“Ronaldo has suffered muscle fatigue and the medical staff will urgently carry out the necessary tests to determine his condition,” the Portuguese coach said.
