Rodrygo Talks About His Career Regret

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has revealed that the biggest regret in his career is the fact that he never had the opportunity to play on the same team as his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 25-year-old Brazilian reflected on his journey and the dream that didn’t come true.

“I wanted to play with Cristiano Ronaldo, but it didn’t happen.”

“It’s a shame because he’s my role model. I’ve always admired him.”

Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus in the summer of 2018, after nine trophy-filled years, during which he became the club’s top scorer in history and won four Champions Leagues.

Rodrygo’s transfer from Santos was completed in June 2018 — just a month before Ronaldo’s departure — but due to age rules for pre-contracts, the Brazilian talent could not immediately join the Madrid club.

He officially transferred to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, thus missing the chance to share the field with his idol.
