Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly eyeing a sensational move for Barcelona star Pedri, in what has been described as a potential modern-day repeat of the Luis Figo saga.
According to Eldesmarque, Pedri is Perez’s “dream signing”, with journalist Siro Lopez claiming the Madrid chief wants to bring the midfielder to the Santiago Bernabéu for the 2027/28 season.
A Figo-style statement
Lopez suggested the move would be a major statement, comparable to Figo’s controversial switch from Barcelona to Real Madrid in 2000. “It’s not just about strengthening yourself,” he said, “but also taking away a key player from Barcelona.”
History between rivals
Figo’s move remains one of football’s most explosive transfers, sparking outrage among Barcelona fans and hostile receptions whenever he returned to Camp Nou in a Madrid shirt.
A similar switch by Pedri would be equally shocking, given his importance to Barcelona.
