Stanley Tucci Opens Up About Wife Felicity Blunt: “She Changed My Life”
American actor Stanley Tucci has spoken candidly about his wife, Felicity Blunt, describing her as the person who transformed his life and brought stability to his family.
During an appearance on the “Open Book” podcast hosted by Jenna Bush Hager, Tucci reflected on his marriage to Felicity, who is 21 years younger than him and the sister of his former “The Devil Wears Prada” co-star Emily Blunt.
The actor revealed that after the death of his first wife, social worker Kathryn Spath, who passed away from cancer in 2009, he never imagined he would marry again or have more children.
“I wasn’t sure if I would ever get married again,” Tucci said during the interview. “I never thought I’d have children again. But when I met her, it all made sense, even though there’s a 21-year age difference.”
Tucci explained that his connection with Felicity grew naturally over time, especially because he was already familiar with her family. According to him, their friendship eventually developed into a deep and meaningful relationship.
The actor also praised Felicity for bringing a sense of security and happiness into his life and into the lives of his children.
“She changed my life by giving me a feeling of safety,” he said. “She also gave my children a sense of security. And she’s fun — it’s genuinely fun spending time with her.”
The couple first met at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada in 2006. They crossed paths again in 2010 during the wedding of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski at George Clooney’s home on Italy’s Lake Como. Shortly after reconnecting, Tucci and Felicity began dating and eventually married in 2012.
The couple welcomed a son in 2015 and a daughter in 2018. Felicity is also stepmother to Tucci’s children from his previous marriage.
