A heartwarming moment has taken the internet by storm after the daughter of a NASA astronaut went viral while celebrating her father’s journey to the Moon.
Victor Glover, a pilot on NASA’s Artemis II mission, is currently helping lead one of the most important space missions in decades. But while he makes history in space, his daughter Maya Glover is making waves back on Earth.
In a video shared on TikTok and Instagram, Maya is seen unzipping her hoodie to reveal a T-shirt featuring her father, before breaking into a joyful dance. The clip quickly captured the attention of millions online.
“When your dad successfully pilots Artemis II halfway to the moon… & you forget the dance,” she wrote in the video, which was set to Korn’s “Freak On a Leash.”
The video exploded in popularity, gaining over 9.3 million views and more than 1.7 million likes on TikTok alone within a short time. Social media users flooded the comments with praise, calling the moment both emotional and inspiring.
Maya also included the caption “Supra astra, ad lunam,” a Latin phrase meaning “Above the stars, to the moon,” adding a poetic touch to the viral moment.
In a follow-up video, she encouraged viewers to leave messages for the Artemis II crew, further boosting engagement and support for the mission.
Victor Glover, a father of four daughters—Genesis, Maya, Joia, and Corinne—is part of the four-member Artemis II crew. The team also includes commander Reid Wiseman, mission specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
The mission launched on April 1 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and is set to travel approximately 685,000 miles over 10 days, performing a lunar flyby around the Moon.
As the Artemis II mission continues to capture global attention, it’s clear that the story isn’t only about space exploration—but also about the powerful human moments that connect people across the world.
