Nottingham Forest have dismissed Sean Dyche as head coach, making him the third manager to be sacked by the club during the 2025-26 campaign.
The decision came in the early hours on Thursday following a 0-0 draw with bottom-placed Wolves, which left Forest sitting 17th in the Premier League, three points clear of the relegation zone.
Dyche, 54, was appointed in October, taking over from Ange Postecoglou who himself lasted just 39 days, and following the earlier departure of Nuno Espírito Santo. Despite a brief bright spell, including a win at Liverpool, Forest’s recent form has been poor, with just two victories in their last 10 league outings and an FA Cup exit to Championship side Wrexham.
In an official statement, Forest said they had “relieved Sean Dyche of his duties as head coach,” thanked him and his staff for their efforts, and wished them well for the future, but offered no further comment.
Dyche acknowledged the club owner’s position after the game, saying the decision to change managers was “the way football is now” and that he had “worked very hard” for the club.
Forest are now expected to pursue ex-Wolves boss Vitor Pereira as their preferred successor, with talks reportedly underway ahead of their next fixture.
