Supercomputer Predicts Champions League Winner

Opta’s supercomputer has updated its predictions for the Champions League winner following the round of 16 draw and the results show a very open race at the top of Europe.

According to the projections, Arsenal remain the main favourites to win their first trophy in history, although their percentage has dropped slightly after the draw. The Gunners have a 27.40% chance of triumph.

In second place is Bayern Munich with 14.28%, while Liverpool has increased its chances to 12.83% after avoiding a clash with Atletico Madrid and will play against Galatasaray

Manchester City ranks fourth with 10.79%, mainly due to the very difficult draw against Real Madrid.

Barcelona benefited from an easier half of the draw, but the clash with Newcastle remains a dangerous one. Meanwhile, Chelsea face a tough road as they face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The predictions are not optimistic for Real Madrid, which is only ranked ninth and has not yet fully convinced this edition according to the statistical model.
