Real Madrid have removed a fan from the Santiago Bernabeu stadium after he was caught on camera making a Nazi salute before the start of the match against Benfica.
According to the official announcement, club security reacted immediately, identified the individual in question and removed him from the stands before the start of the match.
The Madrid club confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the fan in order to determine the appropriate measures, in accordance with the club’s internal regulations.
Real Madrid reiterated its strong condemnation of any form of hatred, racism or violence, emphasizing its continued commitment to the values of respect, coexistence and fair play.
The club also announced that it will cooperate with the relevant authorities if necessary and will take any additional measures to ensure that such behavior has no place in the stadium.
