Brazilian striker Neymar has revealed that he has had a somewhat strained relationship with Kylian Mbappe because of Lionel Messi.
He stated that the Frenchman had become jealous because of his closeness to Lionel Messi and that’s when the problems started.
“I had a few problems with him, we had a little fight but at first it was basic. I called him ‘Golden Boy’.”
“I always talked to him, played together and told him he would be one of the best, I always helped him and talked to him. He would come to my house to have lunch, but when Messi came, he got jealous. He didn’t want to share me with anyone and that’s where the fights started.”
“In addition to the fights, I also saw a change in behavior,” he stated.
Despite PSG having big names at the time, especially in attack where Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe led – they failed to win the most important trophy in history, the Champions League.
The French team was eliminated in two years with the attacking trio, then each parted ways. Messi initially moved to Inter Miami as a free agent, Neymar was sold to Al Hilal, while Mbappe waited until he became a free agent to join Real Madrid.
Without these three, PSG changed the entire system to appoint Luis Enrique, which proved to be the right decision after they won the Champions League last year.
