The Mineiras regional championship final between Brazilian giants Cruzeiro and Atletico MG (1:0) will be remembered for the scandalous on-field brawl.
With 23 red cards, and Atletico goalkeeper Everson being the most injured.
Cruzeiro won the local Mineiro championship by a narrow 1-0 score, and the final was overshadowed by an unprecedented fight at the end of the match.
All of this resulted in 23 red cards, a record in Brazilian football. It’s hard to count who hit whom, and Atletico goalkeeper Everson came out on top.
A disturbing photo of a bloodied and injured Everson, who will remember this match for a long time and will have marks on his face that will remind us of these completely unbelievable scenes, was posted on social media.

These consequences may even be excessive for martial arts, let alone football, in which there should be no place for violence.
Among the players who were sent off was the famous Brazilian striker Hulk, who at one point punched an opposing player in the head from behind.
“It’s sad, I’ve never seen such violence in any football match. We can’t set this example because it will have consequences all over the world,” Hulk said.
With 23 red cards, Brazil’s record from 1954 was broken, when 22 red cards were shown in the match between the Portuguese and Botafogo.
