Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been left out of Thomas Tuchel’s final England squad ahead of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The former Liverpool player has struggled with injuries for much of this season, but has recently managed to return to form and secure a starting spot under Alvaro Arbeloa.
For the first time this season, both Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal have been fit for an extended period.
Carvajal has been largely on the bench, while Alexander-Arnold has started most of the games. However, that hasn’t been enough to earn him a return to England.
Tuchel has decided to trust Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento and Tottenham’s Djed Spence.
Meanwhile, despite not having played for Real Madrid since the beginning of February, midfielder Jude Bellingham has been included in the list.
He aims to return from injury this Sunday in the derby against Atletico Madrid, however it remains unclear whether he will be cleared to play.
