Everton’s Jack Grealish Slapped With £1,000+ Court Bill After £210k Lamborghini Red-Light Incident

Everton midfielder Jack Grealish has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 in fines and court costs after his £210,000 Lamborghini was caught running a red light in Liverpool.

The Manchester City loanee was convicted not for the driving offence itself, but for failing to identify who was behind the wheel at the time of the incident.

Six Points and a Four-Figure Fine

The case was dealt with at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court under the single justice procedure, meaning Grealish did not need to appear in person.

Magistrate Paul Farquhar handed the 30-year-old:

  • Six penalty points on his driving licence

  • £660 fine

  • £120 prosecution costs

  • £264 victim surcharge

Bringing the total to £1,044.

The original red-light offence was withdrawn once the conviction for failing to provide driver details was secured.

Caught the Night Before Villa Clash

According to Merseyside Police, Grealish’s sky-blue Lamborghini was recorded passing through traffic lights 1.4 seconds after they turned red at 11:36pm on September 12, 2025, near Leeds Street and Vauxhall Road in Liverpool.

The incident occurred just hours before Everton’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa — Grealish’s former club — in which he featured in a 0-0 draw the following day.

Police sent a Notice of Intended Prosecution to an address in Manchester, followed by a second letter to a £5.6 million property in Cheshire. After no response was received, prosecution proceedings followed.

Injury Blow Caps Miserable Week

The legal setback comes as Grealish has also confirmed his season is over after undergoing surgery on a stress fracture in his foot.

Posting from his hospital bed, he wrote:
“Didn’t want the season to end like this but that’s football, gutted.”

The injury sidelines him for the remainder of his loan spell at Goodison Park, with the £100m star now set for rehabilitation ahead of a summer return to Manchester City.

For Everton, battling near the foot of the table, it’s another setback in what has become a turbulent campaign.
