Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has spoken about the physical condition of Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga, as well as the possibility of using academy players due to injury problems ahead of the clash with Manchester City.
Speaking about the French striker, Arbeloa expressed optimism about his return to form.
“Kylian Mbappe is much better, but he needs to improve day by day. He has returned with excellent sensations and is gradually progressing.”
As for French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, the Madrid coach stressed that he is now ready to play.
“Camavinga is much better. It’s been a very difficult week for him, but since Saturday he has trained with the group and is fully ready for the match.”
Arbeloa also spoke about the possibility of activating young players from the club’s academy in this match.
“Well, I think we all agree that in Vigo the youngsters showed that their pulse doesn’t waver. Thiago played a great game, Palacios was changed in the team, Manuel Angel was the key on that ball… it’s not easy to trust the academy when you’re sitting here and that’s something people have to understand.”
“Because here are the best in the world and to bring in a new player, you have to leave one of them. It’s not easy, but I trust them a lot and I think people feel identified with them. They are prepared for matches like this tomorrow, as they have already shown,” said Arbeloa.
